My work reflects my experience
as an archaeologist, and the use of images from batik also makes
me feel something of an alchemist, using chemical substances
to create something original. When I used to exhibit, I often
composed a poem relevant to the visual experience, usually in
a classical form,a habit which aroused one famous poetess to
a screaming fit : "WE DON'T WANT SONNETS!" Just imagine,
by adopting a little classicism, I have inspired the English
poetry establishment to rabid maniacal fury !
